Bracenet Founding Story

In 2015, German natives Benjamin and Madeleine embarked on a dream vacation to the stunning waters of Tanzania and Zanzibar. What began as a relaxing getaway quickly turned into a life-changing mission. While diving in the crystal-clear seas, they were shocked to find ghost fishing nets—abandoned and deadly remnants of fishing gear—polluting the waters, littering the beaches, and trapping marine life.

This unexpected discovery ignited a new passion: to learn more about ghost nets and take action to rid the oceans of these silent killers. What started as a small rescue effort and a personal hobby evolved into Bracenet GmbH, a groundbreaking company dedicated to sustainable solutions. Their mission has now crossed borders, growing into Bracenet US, where their innovative upcycling approach transforms ghost nets into meaningful, impactful products.

From that eye-opening holiday to a thriving international movement, Bracenet continues to combine passion with purpose, proving that small actions can create waves of change.

HOW DOES OUR PROCESS WORK?

Bracenet’s virtuous upcycling loop ensures that every Bracenet sold is more than just a product—it's a statement. Each piece raises awareness and actively contributes to removing dangerous ghost nets from our oceans, making a lasting impact on marine conservation.

Join us on this mission to "Save the Seas. Wear a Net."
